Soles and Spokes is the name of the Regional Planning Board (was Chicago Area Transportation Plan) task force working to develop and make our roads more friendly to bike and walking options.

Hyde Park-Kenwood Community Conference has participated in walk-throughs and task force meetings on development of a walkable, bikeable, pedestrian community. CATS, with the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation, is one venue working for this. Another is the Chicago Department of Planning, which has given several grants for studies and projects in our neighborhood. See more in our Zoning and TIF News pages.
