Following the second major commercial high-rise fire in the Loop in a year, The mayor and have approved a sprinkler retrofit program for high rises-commercial for the present with some safety inspections and communications retrofit for residential. Others are very concerned whole neighborhoods, even the Loop, could be devastated by the costs.
